Day 5: Paris

This morning around 7 Poppy woke up complaining of a tummy ache. She then had some diarrhea and had a couple of small vomits all in the span of 30 minutes or so. She seemed to bounce back really quickly afterwards. We didn’t have any specific plans this morning anyway, and it was raining quite a bit so we just took it easy. Not sure what the cause was, but we think it’s probably diet related. She hasn’t been eating that much and yesterday had a big ice cream cone and her usual milk at nap and bedtime, so maybe just a dairy overload?

She seemed to feel better quite quickly and we needed diapers anyway, so we all went out for a short walk in the rain to pick up some supplies and safe foods. We made her a grilled cheese for lunch (more dairy, we know) and she ate a good amount of it. Jill grabbed us takeout from Yansai which was quite good. We also did a load of laundry in the morning and Poppy enjoyed helping us hang it all up to dry.

She woke up a little early from nap with another poop but she didn’t seem uncomfortable once she woke up.

The rain cleared up so we left on foot to Parc Monceau to meet up with a colleague of mine and her family. Poppy and their 4 year old played really well together. Bubbles bring everyone together! We had a picnic and spent a couple hours there, what a lovely place. Check off another carousel for Poppy.

We stopped at L’Endroit for dinner on the way home. Jill and I split some oysters, she had a caesar salad and I had some cold roast beef with mashed potatoes – it was awesome. Poppy had kids macaroni with ham and ate a good amount.

The last couple of days we’ve really been leaning on the iPad at meals so Poppy is chill and we can dig in. It’s setting a bad precedent though and we’re going to try to back off on that a tad, wish us luck.

No tummy troubles for Poppy the rest of the day. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
