Day 2: Paris

We slept in until 9am! Granted, Poppy (and therefore all of us) was awake from roughly 1-2:30am which definitely added to the sleeping in. She wasn’t upset or wanting to get up, she was just rolling around the whole time. We tried pleading with her, and singing, and ultimately she did fall back asleep.

She was still tired when we woke her up, and was pretty grumpy in the morning. It was rainy out so we went to a nearby coffee shop for breakfast where she yet again hardly ate anything. After breakfast we stopped for more groceries, focused this time on picking stuff up that she would be sure to eat, and went back home. She ate a decent amount of ham and cheese when we got home. We then played at the apartment for a bit. Two little girls usually live here so there are plenty of toys for Poppy to play with which is perfect. She really enjoys the dolls they have here. Then we went down for a nap around 12:30 since Poppy was still very tired and moody.

We woke up around 2 and right away Poppy seemed more like herself. The weather was also much nicer. We decided to venture down to the Louvre via bus. Poppy’s first bus ride! We didn’t want to go in the museum but Jill really wanted to see the outside. Check that one off the list.

Then we hit up a nearby playground which was really awesome. Splashpad too! Poppy enjoyed herself in the misting zone.

Back on the bus with the intention of trying our luck at Pink Mamma without a reservation but when we got there we already saw a bit of a line, and we were starving, so went across the street for burgers. The bus ride was long (traffic) and we were joined on the bus by a gaggle of loud British families who were also going to Pink Mamma. We figured we should just make a reservation for one of their restaurants in the coming days and go then. Turns out we made a good choice because the burgers were rad. Poppy still only ate a handful of burger bites and another whack of fries, but she was content at least.

A lovely walk home, quickly stopping at another playground, and then it was bath and bed for Pops.

Looks like it may be a clear, hot day tomorrow. Let’s find out!
